Make-Up Training for Red Carpet and Fashion

If you’re keen on working with celebrities or the fashion industry then consider our 5 month make-up and hair course. Our training will allow you to focus on ‘red carpet’ occasions, fashion shows and photoshoots, including bridal. Our tutors work with students on the coming fashion seasons to help them learn how to quickly identify and adapt the latest trends. This is perfect training for time-pressed students particularly non-EU internationals – more details on our introductory page to short make-up courses.

Here’s a brief look at the syllabus of the 5 month make-up and hair course:

Fashion Make-up and Hair

This major part of the course includes contemporary and ‘stylised period’ make-up and hair techniques for men and women so you are prepared for whatever look your client wants to achieve. Our tutors will introduce you to different materials such as feathers and gold leaf and you’ll learn how lighting affects make-up. Creating the best effects for black and white photography is another area you’ll study.

Basic Hairdressing Skills

We teach essential hairdressing skills including barbering in the Brushstroke 5 month make-up and hair course. This starts with shampooing and handling wet hair before you move onto cutting and layering. You’ll also lean how to apply hair extensions. Using a range of equipment to achieve different looks is very much part of this course too.

Airbrushing and Editorial Techniques

In this part of the course, you’ll perfect your spray brush control, including full make-up application. Editorial techniques include colour matching, highlighting, contouring and correcting to help you achieve near perfect results.

Direct Applied Make-up SFX

The world of fashion doesn’t always focus on the popular view of ‘beauty’. For this reason, part of our 5 Month Make-Up and Hair Course looks at direct applied special effects. With our help, you’ll develop advanced techniques using a range of specialist products and flat moulds. Our aim is for you to be able to create whatever effect your client needs to achieve their vision.
