Fast-paced 6 Month Make-Up and Hair Course

Our fast-paced 6 Month Make-Up and Hair Course covers an impressive range of skills in a short space of time. It’s an intensive course that will prepare you for working in film and TV with some attention to key fashion skills. This is perfect training for time-pressed students particularly non-EU internationals – more details on our short make-up courses page.

The syllabus comprises 4 key training areas:

Media Make-Up and Hair

This is the major part of our 6 Month Make-Up and Hair Course because we teach the most important ‘media’ techniques you’ll need to work in film, TV and stage. You’ll create an iconic look across each key period, gain proficiency with bald caps, and work with wigs  head wraps and facial hair pieces. There’s also an introduction to special effects and prosthetics as well as important business studies – from script breakdown and continuity to finding work through CV development.

Airbrushing and Editorial Techniques

The techniques we teach in this part of the 6 Month Make-Up and Hair Course are for editorial, fashion-related work. Students learn spray brush control for full make-up application including maintenance of the equipment itself.

Basic Hairdressing and Styling

A part of our commitment to creating fully rounded make-up artists, this part of the syllabus focuses on men’s and women’s hairdressing and styling. Included are cutting, finishing, applying hair extensions and equipment care.

Direct Applied SFX Make-Up

Having learnt the basics of SFX in the media make-up part of the course, students are taught to create a variety of wounds and injuries using more advanced direct applied techniques.
