Brushstroke Entry Requirements

Brushstroke is not government-funded which means we can set our own entry requirements. Top of the list for us are commitment and a passion for enhancing or changing the human face (and body) through make-up and hair. If you have a desire to reach the highest standards we can help you become a professional artist ready to make your mark in film, TV, stage or fashion.

BTEC Nationals

BTEC Nationals are the equivalent to A Levels and are the most widely-recognised qualifications should you wish to try for higher education. Indeed, BTECs are regarded as one of the most valuable of the vocational qualifications. Brushstroke BTEC make-up qualification courses come under the category of ‘Production Arts (Make-Up)’.

Assessment

Students complete a range of assignments, research and practical activities, as well as a portfolio of work carried out during the course. Assessment takes place at our make-up training facilities by Brushstroke qualified assessors as well as approved BTEC verifiers.

ITEC

ITEC is a qualification recognised in over 38 countries. It gives students the kind of knowledge and practical skills they need to become make-up and hair artists in film, TV stage and fashion. ITEC qualifications are well known and recognised around the world for high standards of training and employability. Our ITEC make-up qualification courses come under the category of ‘Fashion, Theatre & Media Make-up, and Hairdressing & Barbering’.

Assessment of Brushstroke ITEC Qualifications

Students are assessed in a number of ways: online examinations, assignments, case studies and practical activities, as well as a portfolio of completed work. They are all assessed by a combination of our tutors and external assessors.
